BOSS presented at the 3rd Regional Horizon Business & Innovation Fair

Participants of the 3rd Regional Horizon Business & Innovation Fair , held on 10th of September, had the opportunity to learn from a lineup of speakers and representatives of Enterprise Europe Network partners from the region, share their own experiences, and network with speakers and participants during individual presentations, panel discussions, the B2B matchmaking, and many informal social settings. The event was focused on cooperation in the field of novel technologies with the Serbian companies, entrepreneurs, clusters, as well as research organizations and universities.

During the event, Tamara Čolić Milosavljević had the opportunity to talk about the BOSS project, its activities, and results created for the purpose of stimulating teachers’, researchers’ and students’ ability to initiate and carry out entrepreneurial projects, ranging from opportunity recognition to opportunity exploitation.

The fair was organized by Enterprise Europe Network Serbia with the support of its West Balkan regional partners and the Innovation Centre of Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.

 

Business Opportunity Self-Assessment Methodology

Existing gap between education, research and business has inspired University of Belgrade, University of Liege and META Group to create tools which aim to strengthen the ties between these worlds. Accordingly, the Business Opportunity (BO) Self-Assessment Methodology developed within a project “Business Opportunity Support System upgrade for strengthening European innovation ecosystem” co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, anticipates all the issues either a student, researcher, teacher or an entrepreneur can face when transforming an idea or research into a business opportunity.

The Methodology is based on assessment of 6 dimensions (technology, team, market, unique value proposition, IP, financials) crucial for an objective evaluation and benchmark of a business opportunity.

By completing the self-assessment, the user becomes aware about all important points where business opportunity needs improvement and gets input needed for planning of future activities.

BOSS presented in Tajikistan

During the National Seminar on Technology Transfer and Commercialization organized on 28th and 29th of May in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, Nedeljko Milosavljevic had the opportunity to talk about topics such as establishing Technology Transfer Offices, brining a technology from the lab to the market and launching of start-ups.
During his lectures, he took the opportunity to address the importance of business opportunity support system and to shortly present BOSS project and innovative methods which are being developed in order to enable successful creation and transfer of innovation from academia to private sector.

The event was organised by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), National Center for Patents and Information (NCPI), and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan.

BOSS presented at the Danube Cup 2019 University Pitch Competition

The teams of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), the Corvinus University of Budapest, University of Belgrade and University of Vienna competed at the Danube Cup 2019 University Pitch Competition held on 17th of May in Budapest.

During this event, Nedeljko Milosavljević had the opportunity to talk about the BOSS project and its activities which will be implemented for the purpose of stimulating teachers’, researchers’ and students’ ability to initiate and carry out entrepreneurial projects, ranging from opportunity recognition to opportunity exploitation.

This international competition initiated and organized by the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and the Youth Entrepreneurship Association was focused on students and young researchers who are making their first step into becoming professional entrepreneurs.

Bussines Opportunity Support System presented to bussines support organizations from WB region

During the regional workshop „Acceleration Programs & Project Partnerships “which took place in Nikšić, Montenegro from 8th-10th of April, Tamara Čolić Milosavljević as representative of University of Belgrade had the opportunity to share experiences with colleagues from different bussiness suport organisations in the region (Tehnopolis IPC and Digitalizuj.me from Montenegro, Networks and Spark from Bosnia and Hercegovina, PROTIK ICT Centar from Albania, INNOFEIT from Macedonia, etc.). The opportunity was also taken to present BOSS project objectives and the importance of the tools which will be developed during the course of the project for the purpose of strengthening of the European innovation ecosystem.

BOSS presentation to Russian Technology Transfer Association

Representatives of the University of Belgrade (UB) and the National Association of Technology Transfer (RUSNATT) from Russia had meet on 27th of March in Belgrade for the purpose of establishment and development of long-term cooperation between the University of Belgrade (Center for Technology Transfer) and the RUSNATT. Representatives of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia and Development Agency of Serbia were also present at the meeting during which the Letter of intent was signed between UB and RUSNATT. The aim of the Letter is establishment of framework for collaboration on matters related to assistance in realization and joint implementation of educational programs, including in a remote education and on the basis of the hi-tech enterprises, institutional and scientific institutions, assistance in exchange of the best industry practices, assistance in promotion of inventive activity and professional technical specialties among society, etc.

The parties discussed about existing practices for enhancement of cooperation between academia and industry and Nedeljko Milosavljević presented initiatives which University of Belgrade is undertaking related to this matter. During this discussion, short introduction of BOSS project and the tools which will be developed in order to upgrade business support system and develop entrepreneurial mindset in students, teachers and researchers was made.

Kick-off meeting in Rome

Kick-off meeting of the Erasmus+ BOSS project was held on October 29th, 2018 in Rome. Team members from project partner institutions University of Belgrade, University of Liège and META Group Srl have participated in the meeting.

The first part of the meeting was dedicated to welcome and introduction and short presentations of partner institutions with focus on the project’s topics.
After the welcome speech and BOSS project presentation by the project coordinator Tamara Čolić Milosavljević, each participating partner made an overview of the background, competences and references, goals and tasks of their organizations as well as expertise and experience in the field.

During the second part of the meeting, target groups, objectives, activities, deliverables and partner roles in Management and Implementation, Intellectual Output 1, Intellectual Output 2, Intellectual Output 3, Intellectual Output 4 activities were presented by the Activity Leads.

The third part of the meeting was dedicated to forming of management structures, distribution of work, discussion about Grant Agreement and Partnership Agreement. For the purpose of efficient implementation project activities four teams are formed: Project Management team (PMt), Quality Assurance team (QAt), Dissemination team (Disst) and Development team (Dt). Also, Steering Committee was established during the kick-off for the purpose of evaluation of the overall progress of the project, both the process of developing and implementing the project, and its actual impact on its intended audience.

The final part of the meeting was focused on Reporting and Action plan for the first six months of the project.
